The Dirty Pirate began in 2012, born out of a passion for skateboarding and a drive to create something that represented freedom, rebellion, and community. It all started with a few homies in Oakley, California, who opened a skate shop—the roots were local, but the vision was always bigger. The shop eventually closed, but the spirit of The Dirty Pirate was far from finished.

I always believed there was more to this brand. The “Dirty” hats were popping up everywhere, and whenever I wore mine, people would ask about them. That’s when it hit me—this wasn’t just a shop, it was a movement. It was time to unfurl the sails and see where the winds would take us. So, I reached out to the original crew, reignited the energy, and set course on a new adventure—this time, expanding beyond skateboards to include wakeboarding, snowboarding, and all types of adventure gear.
